Yesterday I was checking out listopia lists on Goodreads and I came across my childhood darling “Amelia Bedelia.” The book I remember from my Kindergarden time was “Merry Christmas, Amelia Bedelia” and oh what a wacky world this girl lives in! She was supposed to bake a Christmas cake with dates in it and she cut up the calendar and put the “dates” in the dough. And that goes on and on!
Thank you Amelia Bedelia and author Peggy Parish for making my childhood as delightful as it was. You sure played your part in it. I do hope that thirty years from now one of the children reading my books will look fondly at one of the covers and remember what a wonderful time her childhood was - and smile at one the adventures of Maya & Filippo with the same type of nostalgia I am overcome when I look at Amelia Bedelia books.
