We are now leaving Cabo San Lucas and I have mixed feelings, the mix being awe, pity and appreciation.
As soon as the tender boat got us to shore we were welcomed by several pairs of what appeared to be soldiers with huge guns (feeling: awe). Then I think I understod why.
As we walked down the waterfront in the unbearable heat we were approached about 100 times by people selling hats, plates, bracelts, necklesses, tours and many others. There were even children trying to sell something for one dollar or just 50 cents (feeling: pity).
After lunch at a nice waterfront restaurant at which we were the only customers, except for another table, we started heading back to the tender boats. I grabbed a few souvenirs at a nice looking gift shop and as we were getting closer to the dock a lady shouted, “Hola Amigos! Thank you for coming and spending some money with us” (feeling: awe, pity, appreciation).
As we are leaving Cabo San Lucas I was filled with appreciation - appreciation for the life I’m living. I realize how many things I take for granted. Even though the main message of my books is to think positive, after today I realize that you can never exaggerate with it. The more things we appreciate, the happier we feel and the more wonderful things we attract.
And if you’re having a bad day - think again. Are you’re children begging for a dollar on the street?
